Today, I had to kick my own father out of my house after he started attacking my wife for breastfeeding our newborn son in the living room. All the way to the door, he ranted that, "You don't see me whipping my dick out and pissing in front of everyone, do you?" FML

To people who said women should cover themselves when breastfeeding: we are mammals and boobs are there for feeding babies, so get over it! It's your backward puritanism that gave a sexual connotation to breasts. If someone told me to cover myself while feeding my child, I'd tell them to go f*** themselves, and even more if it is in my own house.

It's funny that people get so offended by a breast. That hot celebrity wearing a dress that only covers the nipple portion of her breast? Totally fine! A regular woman breastfeeding her child, which provides the same amount of coverage of her breast? Nope that is gross and "unnatural"! I truly wonder sometimes...

to all those commenting saying she should cover her boob in my experience of breast feeding the nipple is only visible for a couple of seconds then the babys face covers the boob its not like breast feeding mothers take there tops off and waggle there boobs around (unlike strippers and drunk women flashing and ive never heard a man complain about that) and you have the option of not looking if you dont like it its not like you are forced to watch

I did witness a mother feed her child like this in the shops once, she had both breasts out before picking her child up, while it didn't personally bother me, I could see how people may get upset by this particular person's breast feeding (I am not opposed to women breast feeding in public)

It's not like he had to watch. She was in her living room, besides she could have covered up for all we know. Last time I checked, breasts are For the sole purpose of breast feeding.

Good on you op for standing up for your wife :) its a shame that your dad reacted so badly though .wow cant believe how many people think its okay to say to women ,that they should feed in a different room. when you are eating we dont tell yous to go to a bathroom or a bedroom, so why should we! besides MOST women cover themselves up anyway while feeding, and op was in her own home so if he had such a problem he should of went to a different room!

I'm sorry, but if you have guests in your home you do things a bit differently. You may walk around the house naked on a regular basis, but you would not do that when you have company....family or not. I am supportive of breast feeding, but when a mother doesn't cover up a bit it just makes me think she is looking for attention. He was a little over the top in his reaction, but I understand his point. We are not living in a third world country where babies are just hanging off the breast. Breastfeeding is natural and beneficial, but since it involves a part of the body that if shown in public in any other instance can get you arrested for public indecency....you should be a little modest about it.

You're making a lot of assumptions. Like, if people don't like the way I'm dressed(or not dressed) they don't have to visit, but I'm not changing for someone visiting MY home. If they don't like if my spouse is breastfeeding in the living room, then move into another room or get out of the house, but you sure as hell aren't allowed to attack them, physically or verbally. Even glaring at them for it might be pushing it depending on my mood. Good guests are the ones who minimize causing disruptions in your life.

192- Walking around naked is not the equivalent to feeding your child. Also it isn't like she was parading her breasts around for everyone to see, I'm pretty sure a hungry baby would provide a bit of cover. Maybe if breasts weren't so ridiculously over-sexualised this wouldn't be a problem.
