HAHA. come to think of it. at least he was being HALF honest. :P
Don't carry a debit card or large amounts of cash, period. Debit cards are as bad as cash- they can be treated like credit cards, no PIN required, and the money is gone until investigated/proven missing. Either use a credit card, apply for a store card, or pre-write a check (unsigned) for large purchases.
Did anyone mention that you shouldn't carry that much cash yet?
Well you can cancel your bank/credit card and just order a new one, no big deal! If you were carrying the amount you needed to buy a 42" in cash then YDI!
Who cares if this is a student carrying cash to feel accomplished? That right there is a foolish issue of pride and has no bearing on the actual accomplishment of saving money. Use a credit or debit card. If it's credit, pay the bill right away. It's EXACTLY like buying it with cash, except without the danger of this kind of stuff happening, ever.
seriously ever heard of a debit card, prevents that kind of stuff from happening...and u don't need good credit to get a checking account
My mum went into PC World with enough money in cash to buy 4 laptops. It was a Sunday, she couldn't have put the money in the bank if she wanted to. I think that the YDI for carrying cash are wrong.

So after losing your wallet you waited until you were at the cashier to check if all your cash was still there??
Uh... do you mean you were carrying all that money in cash? If it was a card then it wouldn't matter, he couldn't use it...
