Today, I was on a date with a guy I've been crushing on. In the middle of the dinner, he said he had to go get something from his car. When I asked what it was, he smiled and said it was a surprise. I waited for my surprise for half an hour. Then I decided to pay the bill and go home and cry. FML

How do we know this? She could have been a boring date. Maybe she rambled on incessantly about her ex-boyfriend(s). Perhaps she got some spinach stuck in her teeth and it was just too disgusting for him to go on. We have to hear his side before we can decide if ditching her was a jerk move.

45: No matter what went 'wrong' with the date, it's kinder to just say "sorry, I don't think it's going to work out." Just up and leaving means that the other's feelings will be hurt, and they may feel embarressed by sitting in a restuarant in full view of a load of people who watched them get unceromoniously dumped.
