If he meant to hurt your feelings, let him have an earful, then allow him to apologize. Find mutual ground, too. I love my wife, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't shallow. I have always been in decent shape and eat well and exercise daily. If I stay in shape, I expect my wife to show me the courtesy of keeping in shape as well (and she expects the same from me, of course.) She is willing to tell me what I NEED to hear if I were to gain weight (and vise versa). Are you willing to do the work and make him happy? Are you willing to not be self-righteous and lose weight first? Lead by example...
