Sorry for nothing, lady

Today, a parent was too busy texting to notice her child had run in front of a moving truck. She did however see me grab the child's backpack to yank him back out of traffic. She then screamed at me for "manhandling" her child and demanded I be fired. It's not even my school; I'm a part time sub. FML

What a bitch. Needs to look after her own kids.

Some people are too obsessed with their phones to even notice the real world. Good for you, you saved a life OP!

You should call child services. A good parent should be able to: admit they're wrong, be grateful when someone prevents their child from being killed, and not let their kid get run over by a truck.

Thats the kind of parent I'd aspire to be. You summed that up excellently

That bitch needs to have her phone shoved up her ass!! Her kid almost got killed, thank God you were there!

You saved a life today. Whatever other shit the day may have thrown at you, you will know that today you did a good job.

They couldn't fire her anyway. Teachers have tenor.

Not all teachers have TENURE. Only teachers who have been at a school for a certain amount of years. Plus this fml specifically states that the OP is a sub.

Why does anyone bother helping someone these days. The one helping is in trouble while the ungrateful one is the perfect parent - The perfect bitch.

I would have told the bitch it was your policy to not allow children to play in traffic Then looked at the child and said "go on, play with the nice cars. You will be just fine".

Hey no matter whether you "manhandled" a child or not you just saved them from injury (assuming the truck driver could have slowed especially for school zone) but either way you did a better job than the parent. I'm always vigilant when around kids. I find their safety a main priority.

Seeing as you are a sub and don't have to really worry about keeping your job, I would have totally unloaded on her for being an irresponsible parent and damn near letting her kid get killed.
