Sorry…

Today, I was working at Old Navy. A girl came up to me and did a bizarre dance. Not knowing how to react, I imitated her to be friendly with the customer. Then she stopped cold. Her friend stormed up to me and yelled, "You jerk! Why are you making fun of her? She has Tourette's, you know!" FML

#11- just 'cause YOU work with people with disabilities and know them like the back of your hand doesn't mean that everyone on the planet does. Get over it. He OBVIOUSLY had no idea that she had tourette's. What else was he supposed to do? Stare at her? Or walk away and possibly be a huge dick because she could've been serious [for all he knew] and she wanted something...? Anyway, this sucks, man. I'm sorry :/ Gotta be awkward.... And sucks for the girl, too. She's gotta get that all the time and just feel like shit....

#87 - How was he supposed to know she had Tourettes?? He just assumed that she was doing a funny dance to joke around, because the other symptoms of Tourettes aren't exactly common knowledge. And I must say, your relating this incident to the bullying you dealt with from other people in the past was totally irrelevant. I'm sorry that you had to put up with that shit from people, but this guy did nothing wrong.

#11 HAHAHHAHAH RETARDS TARDS TARDOS RETARDED.... YOUR a tard. jeez they didnt KNOW they had tourettes get a freakin life. besides thsi shit is so FUNNYYYYYY! omg i got a laugh for an hour. thanks for sharing this. and its not their fault if they didnt know so thats why its funny just the coincidence hahahahhahha a tribal dance hahahha

#25 can i beat you head in with a brick for your arrogance and apparently small IQ? tourettes is not a mental disability. People with tourettes are capable of the same stuff as you, if not more. Yes our outbreaks are near uncontrollable, but only in extreme cases do they really come into conflict with our lives. Now please do the world a favor and jump off the nearest tall thing and die before you can breed and produce even more ignorant assholes :)

HAHAHAHHAHAHAAAHAHAHHHAHAHAHA

so do I, I would not have been offended, because most people would not know this. People I work with do not know I have it until I tell them. There are many different forms/levels of it also. I learned at an early age to not cuss/make noises. it took a wile. I also hear letters differently as in i is e or the other way around. did you say pen or pin. so it can mess with my spelling pronouncing of words also.

You couldn't have known that. Hopefully her rude friend realized that.

How the **** was the guy supposed to know? I was at the dentists once and this guy (who REALLY appeared to have tourettes) was in the waiting room with me. I found out he was faking when I came back out. Asshole.
