#30 Assuming you are Christian, you must realise that according to the Bible the old woman is right about homosexuality, which is (according to the Bible) against God's design and completely immoral in the eyes of God. Now in my opinion, and this also applies to number #19, this gives modern rational thinkers cart blanche to rip into Christianity as a serious religion. You can't say stuff like "Old woman is so wrong and unchristian, don't blame Christians" because on this issue she is right, she is just handling it wrong. She should be showing compassion to her Grandson and praying for his "Healing", according to new age Christianity anyway. I personally am atheist, but I was a Christian for 5 years. P.S. as for her opinions on little people, she's clearly just a complete nutter :S

#39, pretty sure Leviticus overrules that one: "Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion." Also, I don't know what translation you're reading, but the Hebrew says Adam was looking for a "helper," which is also roughly translated to "aid," not "somebody to have sex with." On another note... What I don't get is why Christians take Leviticus to be so literal and apply so much to their lives. At the time it was written, much of it was clearly written with a purpose (to avoid the spread of disease, to support the current economy of the time [the reason slavery was acceptable], etc.) but in the New Testament, Jesus pretty much says "Screw the old ways, just follow me and you'll figure out what you should and shouldn't do." So then, aside from the symbolism some of the old laws represent, why does it still matter so much?

tell your grandma, that if your suppost to follow the rule of no homosexuality that is in the old testament, then you need to follow all the other rules in the old testament. One rule is to stone people who works on the sabbaths (saturdays). Let her be aware of her hypocrisy.

Who denied I was full of anger? I don't need that to be pointed out, I know it damn well. You know why? 'Cause the majority of these people doing the work of ol' yehaw weren't, as you say, "progressive" abolitionists or people standing out against injustice. They were/are the ones starting it. They were the ones more than happy to condemn someone for being black, for being a woman, for not believing in the same thing as them, for being gay, for having an abortion, for being different in any way shape or form and dictating their own lives basically. For being what they believe was lesser than them and sinners. And I don't need to be reminded of the seldom good things that religions have done, but as I already stated those are negated by the fact that the bad outnumbers them. My best friend in the whole world came out to her religious parents, she was slapped in the face and kicked out of the house and after three years hasn't been invited back. That is a reality that happens far more often than some homeless person actually being helped in a way that matters, or someone in jail finding some kind of ******* inner peace. And just people people are not religious, doesn't mean they can't possess noble principles. Not believing in something as ridiculous as a God, doesn't mean that you automatically ONLY want money and sex out of life. Get real.
