Expecting her to watch your dog, as well as three small children is a bit much...
Who the hell steals a dog?
and what does "under her care" mean, dummy? for all we know the dog was at the park without a leash. so it very well could've just taken off.
Erm, I would say that pets are still A priority. I'm not saying it would be BETTER for one of the children to go missing, but OP is still perfectly entitled to be upset at the loss of his precious pet, regardless of blame.
All you "dogs are not important" people are ******* idiots and I hope you get hit by a truck. If you agree to care for a living being, you make that being a priority, it doesn't have to be your #1, but it is still your responsibility. If you had sent your child to spend the afternoon with your sister, and the kid went missing, I doubt people would be saying "FOUR kids?! What's wrong with you thinking someone could handle FOUR kids?!?" She didn't make a choice between her kids and the dog. She agreed to watch the dog, and failed.

That's so sad for the dog, but I would struggle to look after all that at once....
You sent someone being responsible for THREE preschoolers off with an extra life-form to watch after?!? You are clueless.
