Thanks, son

Today, I was supposed to catch a 4:40 flight to New York. My 5 year-old son handed me my carry on bag as I left the house. Turns out he had put his older brother's BB gun into my bag to "keep me safe." I missed my flight after I was detained and strip-searched. FML

It sucks when kids do stuff like that, but they really don't know any better. Best is to tell them that they've done wrong, and hope that they won't do it again.

Hope you got compensation or put on another flight for free :/

Your 5 year old should not have access to a gun.

Dude, you should've used what the BB gun was there for, to protect yourself from guards by shooting at their eyes :D

awh thats cute! But you should make sure that from now on that BB gun doesn't get in his hands.

that's why they ask you if you packed your own bags YDI

omg #4, #8, and #78 read the damn thing thing... it was his 5 year old who put his OLDER SON's bb gun in there... and wow, ppl who say he shouldn't have children because he bought them a bb gun is irrational; he was trusting his OLDER son and mabe bought it for him so that he can learn about consequences. this incident in the airport was a stupid thing to do but it doesnt necessarily mean he can't have children. and who says he bought it for them at all? what if the older son bought it for himself?

You guys are spazzing too much over the fact her kid can get a BB gun, its her older sons, and who knows where he could of put it, its not her job to monitor where her kid puts their BB gun. And the fact of the matter is her son was doing a good thing trying to be nice she didn't deserve it, no one should have that happen to them

Why didn't you check what he packed before you left?

I'm sorry, but if your older son isn't responsible enough to put the BB gun out of the 5 year old's reach he shouldn't be allowed to have it. It may not be a real gun, but the 5 year old could have seriously hurt himself. I agree with teaching children gun safety at a young age, but that doesn't mean a 5 year old should have access to it just because they "know not to point it at someone." Children don't listen, and at that age they don't understand the concept of death or getting seriously hurt. You're lucky you got detained at the aiport and your kid isn't hurt instead.

how do u know the older brother left it out i jave a 4 yr old and a 10 yr old and my 4yr old will find stuff that my older child forgot she had. he finds stuff all the time its what younger kids to you people are stupied you are the ones that shouldnt have kids
