Today, I got home from visiting my long-distance girlfriend. I spent $366 to get a plane ticket to visit her for the week. The day after I arrived there, she broke up with me and I had to buy a ticket for an earlier flight home. With fees and penalties, I paid around $550 to be broken up with. FML

Today, my girlfriend and I went on vacation. We flew 2000 miles, got off the plane, got our bags and stood outside the airport for our ride. She looks at me and says, "I can't do this anymore." So, she broke up with me and flew back home. Now I'm on vacation alone. FML

Today, my girlfriend called saying that she wanted to break up because she wasn't into me anymore. Yesterday, I paid $400 to take her to a Red Sox game, so I asked her why she even came with me. She said that she had been talking to her ex-boyfriend, and he said he was going to that game too. FML

Today, I could finally get a plane ticket to go see the girl I have been talking to for the past 5 months. Just as I told her the exciting news, she told me that she was no longer interested in me. Guess that's 800 dollars down the toilet. FML

Today, my long distance friend-with-benefits informed me she's now in a relationship with an amazing guy. I should be happier for her, as even I admit he is perfect for her. Too bad I just spent over a thousand dollars on plane tickets to visit her. The tickets are completely nonrefundable. FML

Today, my girlfriend of six months dumped me over the phone. I'm in the military and recently had to move away to another fort. We'd agreed that we would try to make long distance work. I'd even offered to buy a plane ticket to come see her each weekend. I've been gone less than two weeks. FML

Today, I caught a flight to see my boyfriend, who is stationed in the army 300 miles away. When I was just 15 minutes from the base he called to say that we should break up. Now I'm heading back to California, single and broke. FML

you didn't have to leave so penalties are YDI better than a dump email or text... even over the phone would sorta suck.... though i've done a break up over the phone....

yeah same here. my girlfriend let me drive 30 hours to visit her for a week, then 2 days in she tells me she doesn't want to be my gf anymore and expects me to be ok with it, like i'm supposed to spend the rest of the week with her and make her feel good about herself. but no ****** way . . . i peaced out and spent the rest of the week with some really good friends an hour south, drinking and ******* my vacation away.

if 38 is telling the truth than i take back my initial FYL and call you a gigantic gaping asshole and to stop feeling sorry for yourself and work on abeing a non-crappy boyfriend... However, if she's just some crazy chick, than, i'm sorry that happened and there are plently of other chicks out there who actually live near you.
