dude... My friend did the same thing to his girlfriend. I must've told him like a hundred times just to break up with her over the phone but no, he wanted "to do it in person so I don't look like an ass." Best part? Her plane got in Wednesday and left Monday. He broke up with her on Thursday. Moral(s) of the story: it could have been worse & your girlfriend probably just thought that she was actually being nicer this way.
