The system is broke!

Today, I found out that when I go on Medicare in January, one of my medicines will go from $45 per month to $3000 for the first month, then $425 per month for the rest of the year. I need this medicine to stay alive. FML

Welcome to America. Only place in the world where it is cheaper to die from a disease than it is to seek treatment. Gotta love the for-profit medical system here.

I think it sounds like America sucks in some areas. I, as a Norwegian, was in a car accident in 2010, had to spend between 7 and 8 months in hospital in total, was flown in by helicopter, and haven't paid a penny - that's the Norwegian system, and I feel blessed to live under it! I wish you the best of luck! ??

Wow. I went in for a 20-minute test to check for a possible heart problem and came out owing more money than my car is worth. The problem was one of my moods.

Wow, why is it going up that much? That's beyond ridiculous. **** authority!

sounds like you'd better start doing one of three things. 1: turn tricks in a bowling alley parking lot. 2: drain any savings/401k you might have. 3: say your goodbyes.

Thanks to Obamacare yeah, sure. It’s been like this for years

The sea is your media has a prescription assistance plan by googling the name of the media and looking at its manufacturer's website. I know some like Qvar and Remicade have monetary assistant plans

Sometime if you write the company, they will send you free fills of the medication, or vouchers for greatly reducing the price. Some may have forms you can fill out and get your doctor to fill out that will do the same. You could also call the practice that put you on the medication and see if they have samples, or even potentially call around to other practices in the area that are willing to give you samples.
