Theater kid

Today, my theatre teacher made me go on stage even though I had a violent stomach flu. My understudies were unreachable, and she threatened to fail me if I did not perform. Halfway through the first act, I vomited on the first row. She failed me for letting the cast down. FML

Complain to the principal. That is totally out of line.

Your teacher's a bitch...an obvious but necessary comment!

Theatre teachers are psychotic pretty much by definition. Incidents like this are not uncommon. Complain if you wish, but don't expect an apology or an "A." Stay away from the drama department if it gets under your skin that much.

Get your parents to send a letter of complaint to the principal and school administrators. At the very least you shouldn't be failed for going through with the show while ill. That's just mean!

If your in High school you shoulda stayed home sick if your in college you should have **** slapped that ho

this sounds a bit too dramatic to be for real.

She should have failed your understudies for being unreachable...they were the ones that weren't fulfilling their responsibilities. That said, having done a lot of theater in my time, I have to agree with #44...doesn't sound like something like this would have actually happened...

YDI for spelling it "theatre" unless you're british, then it's ok i guess but yeah i guess it is a ****** up situation lol

It's a word that can be spelled two ways. Like grey and gray. It's the story that matters.

They're Canadian, that's the correct spelling for Canadians

Thats rough man. Like so many people have said, go to the dean or principle. Don't take that sitting down, I'm surprised you didn't slap her across the face. I know its the first thing I would have done.

#41: Just being a theatre teacher doesn't give you an excuse to treat your students like shit. OP should expect both an apology AND an A, on top of official disciplinary action against the teacher. If incidents like this aren't uncommon, then that doesn't indicate that theatre/drama teachers are psychotic; it indicates a complete failing of the principal/higher school authorities.
