Today, I got kneed in the stomach by a sixth grader. I couldn't breathe. I have a black belt in Taekwondo. FML

So? Though I'm sure you're usually aware I doubt that even as a Taekwondo blackbelt you had any expectation that a little kid would hit you, and, regardless of your age difference a knee to the stomach is still a knee to the stomach. Besides, I'm sure after you got kneed in the stomach you probably could have taken the kid out, but really, would you have even bothered? I've been teaching karate for 8 years and I do private lessons with 2 severely autistic teenagers. 2 months ago one of them clocked me across the face, he's not usually violent at all but it turns out when his mom is around he gets "playful" [first time his mom was around for a class]. . .I didn't expect it because after over a year of doing this I never had any reason to believe he would hit me. . .Did it hurt? hell ya, doesn't matter that I have a black belt.
