Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my parents. My mother turned to me and said, "Wait you're actually gay? I thought you were just saying that to piss off your father." I came out to her when I was 16, and have confided in her about my past relationships. FML

Sometimes being gay is a "choice", and sometimes it's not. There's people who find it an intruiging fad in ways, so they will have sexual encounters with people of the same sex. Some people just do because that's how they've always felt. However, to technically be a homosexual means to be sexually attracted to people of the same sex, and to have these encounters with them. Isn't it techniically(rape and all of that aside, due to its irrelevance in my thoughts right now) your choice over who you sleep with? I'm not saying that you woke up one day and decided to be gay, I'm saying you woke up and decided to act on homosexual thoughts. So, in a way, I guess it could be perceived as being a choice. In my case, I could or could not be concidered a lesbian, because although I find women attractive, I don't really plan on acting on sexual impulses, because I don't find sex with either person to be something I desire.

if you (call yourself) a Christian, beeing gay is NOT an option because the entire book of Proverbs says marriage is between a man and a woman. Did GOD create Adam and Bob. No. Did HE create Eve and Stephanie. No. HE created Adam (boy) and Eve (girl). There's your answer. Probably why your mom is upset.

Funny how it's mostly only the conservative homophobic fundamentalists who follow your line of thinking. Most Christians review the scientific evidence for or against homosexuality, and make informed decisions. But then...it's expected that the conservative homophobic fundamentalists ignore (or hate) anything other than their own views. "Brothers and sisters in Christ", my eye.

#71 Wow, you're narrow-minded. So, if one should grow up their whole life being raised with the Christian faith, then come puberty said person realizes they are attracted to the same sex as themselves. Are they now to drop their religion - something they've grown up with their whole life - because of one unspecified rule? Not that the OP is Christian, but really, grow up.

sorry but Christianity is not about just saying o it was just a little bad thing so it doesn't matter, it is about loving Jesus Christ and not sinning against him because you love him. so you can not be gay ur whole life and be truly loving God because if you love God you would not be gay. but if you repent and stop being gay then you can then be saved again
