Maybe Kitty has a urinary tract infection...they tend to go everywhere but the litter when they do.

Cats don't like using a dirty litter box. Changing it regularly, and perhaps scooping everyday, could help with that problem OP.

Maybe it wasn't clean enough and your cat was getting back at you for it? My cat did that before I had her fixed... she peed on EVERYTHING... it was awful. Wash the bag with vinegar to get the smell out. Make sure your cat is fixed and the litter box is cleaned and if she still does it, then take her to the vet to see what's going on.
