Today, I heard my sister gagging in her room. She was doing it quietly, and I got pretty concerned, after hearing a lot about bulimia recently. I knocked, then heard a gasp, so I let myself in, only to see her on her knees and her boyfriend with his underwear around his ankles. FML

Today, I woke up to a blood-curdling scream from the bathroom. I jumped out of bed in panic and rushed into the bathroom, only to see my sister limping around in the nude. She'd just jumped out of the shower because someone had flushed the toilet downstairs. FML

Today, I worked up the courage to confess my bulimia to my girlfriend of three months. It's a touchy subject for me and I ended up in tears. Today, while at a family get together, my bowels suddenly decided they needed to be emptied. Straight away. What is the point of knocking if you don't wait for a "come in"? Next time just knock and ask if she's okay from outside the door, it'll save both of you a lot of embarrassment.

OP does deserve it for walking in without permission, regardless of the reason he gave. All I have to say to anyone who down voted #3's comment (and probably mine now too), is why would someone be gagging themselves to throw up intentionally in their bedroom, and NOT the bathroom? If OP said "in the bathroom" instead of "her room", then yes he would have had a reason to walk in.

I have heard of people throwing up into containers in their bedroom and hiding them until nobody is home. I don't think it is extremely common but it happens.
