Today, a customer at work said his table was dirty. I asked which one he was sitting at so I could clean it for him. For some bizarre reason he got pissed and called my manager over. He ended up reporting us to corporate, and my manager got written up. He's blaming me for everything. FML

This needs a follow up. I want to know what the guy said.

It is so stupid how corporations & managers write people up or fire them over the stupidest little customer complaint. People are idiots. Someone shouldn't lose there job because someone else is a moron. They shouldn't get written up either.

It's customers like that that make jobs so frustrating. I am sorry though. I hope you have a better day next time you go in !

I worked retail in my teens and would strongly consider a wife range of illegal activities before returning to any retail job. start looking diligent for another job just in case it goes farther than it should but it will probably blow over OP

It's rude to clean a table when someone is using it. But the customer is a pain

When is a clock considered as the right time when we don't even know and we don't have a clock to check do u don't even know

We want follow up! What was his complaint?

What exactly was said? For the manager to get written up..hmm something was obviously wrong. All tables should be clean at all times. Y'all have to keep a high standard so people can't complain to corporate. I'm sure if there was nothing wrong there's nothing that could be done right? Wrong. The customers always right. Work on your customer service.

Some people will always find something to complain about even if you do nothing wrong.

Maybe he thought you were being sarcastic or something? I honestly have no idea why he would do that.

Some customers are just complete assholes. The motto "the customer is always right" is complete bullshit. Everyone should work in retail once in their life to learn how hard it is to keep a smile on your face when people make complaints about the most ridiculous things.
