Today, a customer at work said his table was dirty. I asked which one he was sitting at so I could clean it for him. For some bizarre reason he got pissed and called my manager over. He ended up reporting us to corporate, and my manager got written up. He's blaming me for everything. FML

This needs a follow up. I want to know what the guy said.

It is so stupid how corporations & managers write people up or fire them over the stupidest little customer complaint. People are idiots. Someone shouldn't lose there job because someone else is a moron. They shouldn't get written up either.

That's waaaay too far. Sometimes its really busy and tables don't get cleaned up as promptly as they normally would be. Unfortunately, in customer service, no matter what the customer complains of, the employee gets the shit end of the stick. Hang in there OP

Most jobs are like this, unfortunately. ESPECIALLY if you work in any form of retail, or customer service.

It's an honest question...but I think let me grab a rag and see what table he was standing near would have not had him overreact

Customers will do the craziest things. A customer where I worked wanted a refund on his meal because he said the AC was too loud and it ruined "the experience".

maybe you had a slight attitude and that pissed them off even more but either way I'm sorry

And also calmly explain to them that how they're acting is extremely childish and inappropriate and that they should only treat others how they would be treated. And if they still don't get embarrassed and feel bad...than just yell back at them.

I feel like there's more to this story..

I'm guessing you work for McDonald's, the shittest place to work for

I read it pissed as in he stood up in front of you and took a piss.

This sounds like everyday at work for me. I can not stand the majority of my pretentious, entitled, asshole customers.
