Today, a customer threatened to come back later and shoot the whole place up. Why? I didn't give him a discount on his beer. My boss's reaction when I called the police: "Why didn't you give him the discount?!" Last week he bitched me out for letting a girl off for being a few cents short on hers. FML

Today, my boss came around to my way of thinking. He called our customers a "bunch of assholes" and to kick them out if they gave me trouble. When a lady began yelling at me for "setting the damn prices too high" I told her to leave. My boss soon bitched me out for being unprofessional. FML

Today, my boss showed me a two-page letter from a customer, complaining about me because I couldn't honor a coupon that expired in 2009. He agreed that I did the right thing by refusing it, but said it would be a black mark on my record anyway due to the complaint. FML

There is a HUGE difference there. The girl didn't have the money to pay and you just let her walk out and he's out money. This guy comes in and threatens to shoot up HIS bar which will cause damage he needs to pay to fix and a stigma of being a bar that crazy gun toting maniacs go to, all because you didn't want to give him a few bucks off. I'd be pissed too that you saved me 2 bucks at the possible cost of thousands!
