Today, a senile old lady came up to me and offered me chocolate. I noticed that it was ex-lax, so I politely told her no. My 4-year-old daughter pushed me aside and ate the ex-lax, because she thought it was candy. I now have a stinky child on a 3 hour bus ride, with no stops. FML

You couldn't stop your child? I'd never let my daughter take any sort of candy from a stranger. I would have said no, given a reason and distracted my daughter with something else.

Are you some kind of weakling? a four year pushed you out of the way? Even if she did manage, you must have poor reflexes. You couldn't stop her from eating it?

I don't understand how a 4-year-old supposedly pushed you aside. Are you training her for sumo or something? You must also have really bad reflexes - you should be very much able to take the chocolate from your kid before she eats it. She should also know that taking food from strangers is bad. Finally: why couldn't you just say to your kid that the chocolate will make her stomach hurt or something? It makes most kids stop for a little second, enough for you to grab the item from them.

What the hell OP? You've never showed your daughter Snow White to show her why you don't accept things from scary old ladies?!?

You only THINK she was senile. Really she's just mean. And good at acting

can't control a 4 year old. be ready to see her on Jerry Springer one day

I'm still trying to figure out how you couldn't stop a FOUR YEAR OLD from "pushing" past you to take candy from a stranger, and why you didn't have enough time to stop her and take it from her.

And so are TWENTY OTHER PEOPLE WHO POSTED THE SAME THING BEFORE YOU. Jesus, no one reads comments before posting anymore.

There's no reason to get so irritated over such a minor thing, they are just all voicing the same and biggest question. And if you haven't noticed it was comment #129, I don't blame them for not reading the comments before them, especially since a lot of them can be asinine.

@#138- I wish I had the time to read all the comments, but I don't, I have a life. You should probably look into getting one, seems like you need it seeing how you're getting all worked up over a stranger on the internet not thoroughly reading the comments on an FML. Sheesh, go rub one out or smoke a J, whatever it is you usually do to unwind.

244- don't be a prick. It doesn't take that long to make sure there's not a comment similar to the one you're going to make, even if you just check the first page or two. (I'm on the app so I don't know if the website layout if different, but damn son, it's not that hard to scroll.)

I'm a woman, and am neither a 'prick' nor a 'son'. I don't care if someone else said something similar to what I said, I came to say what I had to say and that's it. Bummer for you if you don't like it.

You let your child push you and do what she likes? Wow, top parenting there.

Look on the bright side, maybe her daughter learned a lesson from this. She took candy from a stranger and now she has to sit in her own crap for 3 hours. Plus, probably a scolding from her parents.

Guys, I just want to point out that the 'chocolate' is actually a LAXATIVE that can be poisonous to children. You all are focusing on it being candy and I don't see anyone focusing on the fact that the child could have consumed anywhere from 15mg to 180mg or more of a laxative that has a maximum dose for a 4 year old of 8mg in 24 hours. Poison Control anyone or an emergency room?
