Today, a very good friend of mine said he had a question to ask me. Jokingly, I threw my arms around his neck and said, "Oh yes, yes, a thousand times yes!" When I sat back down, I saw tears in his eyes, and he said, "You've made me the happiest man alive" as he pulled a small box out of his coat. FML

See, the thing is, she didn't know he was going to propose to her until he pulled the little box out of his pocket. She was joking around with him before she even knew what the question was. If he's her good PLATONIC friend, why would she expect him to propose to her out of the blue? OP, FYL for possibly messing up a good friendship, FHL for unrequited love. Hopefully you guys can move past it. :)

ohhhhhhhhhhh now i get it at first i was like huh how is that an fml? but now i get it awww poor guy

I'm gonna go with Congradulations!

Did you misspell that to highlight the silliness of the situation, or are you just plain retarded?

If you are going to incorrectly spell that, it should be "Congratufuckinlations"

You have no right to say that #17 they could be platonic friends and therefore she would have had no idea that he was in love with her

#387 - platonic is a non-romantical relationship. A completely normal friendship, with no (open/mutual) romantic feelings.

platonic actually means non sexual relationship

I just spit out my tea! I found this very hilarious.

And this is why you listen to the question before giving an answer...

also, if you do those things were you say no before someone finishes, they rephrase the question so that you agreed with what they wanted. So, yeah, these two reasons are why you wait for people to ask the question, THEN answer it.

wow thats awkward. good luck getting out of that lol
