Today, a very good friend of mine said he had a question to ask me. Jokingly, I threw my arms around his neck and said, "Oh yes, yes, a thousand times yes!" When I sat back down, I saw tears in his eyes, and he said, "You've made me the happiest man alive" as he pulled a small box out of his coat. FML

hahaha I legit laughed out loud at this. At first I thought that it was you thinking he wanted to marry you so I laughed and then I saw that he was actually the serious one and i found it even funnier. At the same time though I think it's sweet. He obviously has been thinking about you a lot.

so really what are the chanses that this would really happen?! little to none. and OP YDI for being so stupid cause now you have to tell him that you were joking. -_- way to crush that mans dreams if this is true

HDI. Who proposes to someone they're not even dating? This is either fake or he's ridiculously stupid. Or both.

So you said yes before he asked any questions? I don't understand. If that's the case, you really, REALLY suck, OP. YDI so much for toying with his feelings. Poor guy...he sounds like he's really sweet and nice.

She deserves it for toying with feelings...she didn't know he had? WTF?

It's a famous movie quote. She said it as a complete joke because they were ONLY friends. She doesn't deserve anything.

Coat? In the middle of the summer? In Texas? Those three don't mix. Either fake or happened last winter.

isn't it possible that he was wearing a windbreaker? or a raincoat? or a dinner jacket? don't jump to conclusions.

LOL This reminds me of a time when I was asked out by my friend. She said,"Can I ask you a question?" I jokingly said,"No I won't go out with you" just as a joke. She looked sad and said,"Why not?" I was like wait what?

this kinda sucks. you had no way of knowing it was going to happen, so FYL for getting into that situation. props for the Austen reference, though! *grins* Jane Bennet ftw.
