Timing is everything. YDI, for doing it during a service. Those customers did nothing to you, so why did you upset their meal.
It's all good bro you'll get another job
You deserve to be treated with respect, but during service is probably not the time to draw a line in the sand. Next time schedule a meeting with your manager to address your issues.
you must work for Gordon Ramsay... "it's raw! "
I learnt the hard way too!! And a knife would have made them laugh harder! Just get back on your feet!
A big part of me thinks that you're better off out of a workplace full of bullies. A smaller but more pragmatic part knows how terrible it is to lose your job. The only advice I can offer is to master the firm dismissal and the icy put-down - you can stand up for yourself without causing a scene. I worked as a waitress, and that ended any hassle...although I was lucky enough to have a manageress who'd behead anyone that picked on her staff, be they customer or colleague. I wish you all the best in your next job. It never ceases to amaze me that we have so many different words for "bullying", all of which imply it's somehow the victim's fault for "overreacting," especially once we're out of school. If any teacher came up with the excuses "oh, it's just a bit of hazing" or "well, everyone ***** on the new kid," most children's parents would pull them up so fast they'd have whiplash.
I'm sure there is a more mature way to quit than that tbh. While I'm in agreement with OP, the smarter thing to do would have been to tough it out, get some good references and find a new job.
If you're going to stand up for yourself at least remind them that they're worthless wastes of space contaminating the air for important people. Also that they're mouth breathing shit stains on the fabric of life.

At least you tried to stand up for yourself. You don't deserve to be treated like that.
Maybe if you did it with a knife in your hand they wouldnt have laughed so much...
