I would walk in with a complete resumè and be like ' i got laid off from my old job due to cutbacks and I'm looking for a new job'
that's illegal..if they said it was cutbacks and immediately placed a sign in the window? if it was for the same position and like immediately after and you weren't fired u could sue for wrongful termination..GL job hunting!
because suing is the answer to everything!! chances are if was a decent salary job, they got severance pay for being fired. if it was a simple minimum wage type job, its no loss since many places will be looking for new people since all the college kids go back the next few weeks. but just because they have a hiring sign up doesn't mean it was for their same position.
they were doing you a favour by laying you off at least.
You should apply ;)
thats illegal... sue them
