Return the bracelet and get TWO pair of Oakleys -- one for you, and one for the new girl who gets as much of a boner for crass materialism as you do.
win!
Personally, I'd really like to meet OP so I can kick him in the ****** for being the materialistic asshole that he is. Yes I said ******.
uh you deserve it. at least she's being honest . maybe she can't afford presents. it's about giving, not expecting something in return. if you can fork out that much money, I'm sure you can buy yourself a pair of shades.
l will take it, and you can have my Oakley's,
Geez, $700? I'd be afraid to take the jewelry out of its box. Maybe your motives were pure, but I'd have a hard time accepting something like that from a bf without thinking there are strings attached.
How so Jane? New girlfriends typically (in my experience) go overboard with cutesy presents, so based on her response, and the fact that the present sounded reasonable to OP, I'd expect they've been together for a long while. If that was the case, what possible strings could there be?
How about a $700 jewel encrusted yo-yo? That should alleviate your concerns.
I'm sure she is ****** with you
All these boyfriend/girlfriend + christmas FML have one spending a lot of money on the other and then the other not wanting to exchange gifts or getting a gift of a lesser value, like it's the value that matters.. But then they do always feel the need to publish the amount they spent so I guess value is more important to them...
700 bucks seems a little high priced for a gf

hahaha! You deserve it for thinking she is obliged to get you an expensive present just because you got her an expensive one.
Christmas is about giving, not getting. Try not to be selfish.
