Isn't that illegal? There has to be some way to get what you deserve your extra for that massive work you did
some bosses are just jerks. hopefully you documented your work.
Wat an asshole
Organize a mutiny!
By promising the bonuses (hopefully in front of witnesses) your boss has entered into a little something called a "verbal contract". Remember, if unpaid overtime isn't covered in your contract then someone has to pay for it. The company has two choices, it can either pony up the overtime (in the form of bonuses), or it can say that the bonuses and overtime weren't their doing and then effectively you weren't working for the company during that overtime, you were working directly for your boss in his private capacity (they'll probably use some phrase like, "He exceeded his authority in promising bonuses"). He therefore owes you those bonuses out of his pocket and you can sue him in his private capacity for those bonuses. Best of luck.
if they are on the clock they got the overtime if they clocked out and kept worki g that us on them not the company. also bonuses just because you get promised one does not mean you will always get it. not illegal just lame. also most states have a 2 grand civil suit limit. they would need to do a class action and more than likely would lose in the end
Exceeding his authority would be between him and the company, though they'd probably try that. He was acting as the company's agent, so they are liable for his actions. The problem with an oral (not verbal - that just means in "in words") contract is proving that exists, and what was contracted. Oral contracts are legally binding in Scotland, but not in many other places, for this reason. IANAL - YMMV. Void where prohibited.
Unfortunately, in the U.S., the only legally-binding contract is a written one that's been mediated by a lawyer. Your "word" means next to moot, especially in the workforce; if it's not on paper, it didn't happen.
Maybe someone should send the IRS an anonymous tip that says he's been avoiding taxes
create a failure ...then it make it success... it always works and your boss never gonna take credit for it...
kill em. kill that bastard for stealing ur money.

Wow, he shouldn't be allowed to operate a business like that.
Okay that's not alright. You and your coworkers have the right to dispute his work and prove that he is a stealing bastard
