Today, after much self-doubt and awkwardness, I learned that I look amazing in a little black dress. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to tell my wife. FML

OP here. Thanks for the support, everyone - I have told her, and, while she's definitely not into it, at least she doesn't plan to leave me over it. To those of you wondering whether I'm a transvestite, a crossdresser, a transexual, or transgendered - there are waaay too many of these names, and it's confusing. How about I explain it this way: I'm a girl on the inside, and I'm still attracted to girls (a lesbian, perhaps?). I don't mind my body, and I don't mind wearing men's clothes (heck, it's what I grew up with), but I'd like to see what more is out there... I've been hiding it and ignoring it and thinking I'm wrong for a long time, but my control is obviously slipping.

I have to say...I was NOT expecting that ending. I was expecting the FML to end with something about ruining the dress or some sort of self esteem issue. Lol

Just come out wearing it! You never know it may get her excited!

Good to see so many positive comments on this fml. I was expecting the opposite. There are still some kind people in the world :)

Don't worry about it! A lot of guys look good in dresses and it doesn't mean anything, other than that they have a good figure.

Tell her the truth. Sit down and have a chat with her, and get it out in the open. It's better for you to tell her, no matter her reaction, than for her to find out some other way and all conversational doors close for you because of it. Even if she's not down with you cross-dressing, at least you'll have been honest with her and with yourself. Good luck, OP. <3

Hey man just rock the shit out of it haters gonna hate no matter what you do.

#124, you ****** up the punch line! It's "I wish I was a girlie, just like my dear papa!" If you're going to quote Monty Python, get it right, or certain death awaits you with nasty, pointy teeth!

Your wife should be OK with that, unless you look better in the dress than she does. If you do, then you are up Shit's Creek!

this has got to be the greatest FML ever

Apparently what I feel is right is no longer the the majority's stand. I am very surprised to see how many people view this activity as normal. For a reason unknown to me my first post was moderated for "trolling". I am not looking to cause problems with my post. I am trying to insert my opinion into this largely supportive group. I feel sorry for OPs predicament not because he cant wear a dress in our society but because he feels that he looks better in women's clothing. Do you guys seriously think that a man who wants to wear clothing traditionally worn by women is free of confusion?

For the sake of your marriage I hope your wife is accepting, but if she isnt dont blame her. She fell in love with you before this all happened and she my not be ok with it. But good for you for facing your fears and doing what you feel is right :-)
