I've had reflux before, it caused chest pain that felt like it was in my lungs...he might be right but try another doctor for a second opinion. Or take some meds for it and see if they help.
Acid reflux is in the stomach not the lungs... Your doctor is a complete ******* retard lmao
Acid reflux can cause chest pains. I know from experience because twice I went to the emergency room with chest pains, and through a series of tests, the doctors determined it was mild reflux.
I've had reflux pain before, and it was usually in the center of my chest. But I agree with some of the others, try some meds like Prevacid or Zantac and see if that helps. If not, check with another doctor. If it is reflux, I definitely know your pain, and it hurts like a bitch, so I feel for ya OP.
Growing up for some reason I always thought "professionals" knew what they were talking about (ie teacers, doctors, etc). Now that I am older I realize most people are ******* stupid, even if they did go to school for 7 years... Luckily some are still competent, just have to find then.
FYL OP been there myself ... i once had both my lungs collapse at the same time, took the hospital three days to figure it out and get me ib surgery
OP, If you really think it could be pneumonia then go to the hospital emergency and see a doctor there. The hospital is better equipped to be able to tell for sure if is or not because they will be able to give you chest ex-rays. I've had pneumonia a few times and it is much better if you catch it early so you will just get antibiotics and be sent home. If you wait, then you could end up in being admitted and it really sucks. If you do in fact have pneumonia, then your chest will probably feel like knives are constantly stabbing you, and shortness of breath, coughing, and coughing out phlegm. If it is yellow or green that means it is already really bad and you should get on meds right away. Feel better soon:)
I feel your pain. I had some broken ribs some years ago, and the doctor threw the x-ray up on the light board. He started to condescendingly show me where the fracture was -- it was obvious. When I inadvertently cut him off to point it out he said "Oh, so now you've had 8 years of medical school and training?" I said "No, I've had 25 years of artistic study and have probably seen more skeletons than you. Plus, it's not that difficult to read an x-ray. It's rather obvious when you see solid white masses in 'ribcage' shape, then see a black break in the mass. That's where the fracture is." I was right, and he was pissed. He didn't prescribe any pain medication and told me to tough it out. I never went to that doctor again.

Sounds like you should look for a new doctor...
Go to another doctor for a second opinion!
