are new dogs that expensive nowadays ?
Humans have done nothing except make me miserable and take advantage of me (including my parents and family). I think I'd save the dog over any self-absorbed human, including myself. BTW, anyone else think it's ridiculous how it's relatively cheap to stop an animal who humans think are lower than them from suffering, but when it comes to other humans who want to stop their pain, all they get are disgust and told no?
Yeah, that is really weird. Funny how it's all fine and dandy to off the dog for a vet, but a doctor faced with a human who is in inconceivable pain will say "Sorry, I can't do that, but I CAN pump you up on morphine until you die! But not a lot, because then you could get addicted, and morphine is expensive." My grandfather was forced to go through that. Absolute bullshit.
I don't get the people who say YDI for spending 15,000 on a dog. Admittedly, it is alot of money to spend to save a pet, but if you've never had a dog, you don't really understand the bonds formed. If I had 15,000 in my account spare which I could use to save my dog, I'd spend it, if there WAS a chance they'd live. If I was told there was no chance that they'd live, I would put them down to stop them suffering. My uncle had an old dog who could barely walk, but he kept him alive, and it was a horrible sight to see that dog struggling everyday. I never said that the OP's dog was more important than his family, or humans, but Im sure that the OP would have reconsidered if another family member needed the money for health help, IF that was the case, which it wasn't. To all the people who've said he should have spent it on something else, maybe his dog was a higher priority than anything else? Just maybe, he didn't have any insurances or debts or whatever to pay off and he could actually spend his money on something he cared about. Quit nagging, just because you want 15,000 to blow on something else. And also, all the 'you should have given it to charity' suggestions, he wasn't given a choice between Charity or Dog, was he? Stop acting like you all donate bucket loads to charity and OP was the odd one out t spend it on his dog, 'cause thats what it sounds like at the moment.
Dog Food: 14$ Leather Leash: 25$. Veterinary Services: 15 000$. A Seriously Dead Dog: Priceless.
You deserve that you stupid loser. God punishes idiots like you with irony. And if the rest of you are too narrow minded to realize the difference between saving a life and throwing money away then you don't deserve to be told. Anyone who didn't say YDI needs to re-evaluate their priorities.
You're an idiot. Money is paper and coins, and is imo, ruining the world, whereas a dog, or any domesticated animal would give it's life for you any time, for any reason, you wouldn't give it a mostly meaningless piece of paper or the swipe of a card? You deserve to be lonely if you chose YDI
Makes sense... prolong his suffering verses ending his suffering. There is not a day I don't wish my dog was still alive, but I know he was suffering, wasn't eating, barely walking, not sleeping. Dogs don't have long life expectancies, it's better to let them die in peace and not a prolonged painful death
I'm so sorry for your loss!!
sorry but your stupid for spending that much. you should have put him down.

your poor dog..
Boo ******* hoo, some guy took his own hard earned money and paid for something they care about's health instead of listening to some dumb **** on the internet and giving it to charity. What about people who spend hundreds of thousands more to buy a bigger house, even though they don't really a house that big? Shouldn't they have given their money to charity? What about billionaires who spend their money on playboy bunny slaves? How many little African kids would you save if he gave all his money to charity? Face it you dumb *****, giving your money to charity is an option, stop making it seem like this guy was obligated to do it just because he spent money on his dog. You know what else people do? They spend loads of money buying food for their dogs! And pfft, we ALL know dogs don't need food! They should have spend that money on some poor kids in Africa with AIDS to let them live a few more days even though they're already on death row because no amount of money even in your stupid ******* idealistic bubble could save them all. Grow the **** up.
