Today, after spending 8 months and $11,000 on school, I was denied a job in my chosen career field. They told me they decided to go with someone with more experience. So who got the job? One of my classmates. This is her first job. EVER. FML

Today, I received a call telling me I had not gotten a job I would have been a perfect fit for. The hiring manager told me they "went in the opposite direction" and chose to hire someone with less experience, so they didn't have to pay them as much. She made sure to tell me I was still the better candidate though. FML

Today, I got notice that I didn't get the new position I applied for at work. After two interviews, pay negotiation and paperwork, as well as years of giving this place all my time, I found out my boss gave it to his friend's daughter, who has no experience or credentials needed for the position. FML

Today, after graduating from the same program, I was offered several jobs, while my boyfriend wasn’t. He couldn’t be happy for me, saying, "She got in with the right people, and they just keep handing her jobs," and dismissing my work ethic. FML

Today, my sister started a full-time job with a good pay despite having no prior work experience and being a college freshman. Meanwhile, I've graduated with two degrees, have been working two jobs for the last five years, and still can't get a full-time position anywhere. FML

So I notice the OP is in Alaska. The going tuition for in state College tuition is around $3500 a semester. If the OP went to college for 8 months and spent $11000, then they probably took what's called a wintermester class or 3 of them. They also could have taken a fall semester, then spring, then straight into a summer semester to graduate faster. I'm assuming they only have an associates degree or they might have gotten one of the many certificates that the university offers. Most jobs up here that I have noticed only require a cert or an associates degree. It's still bullshit that they told OP that they went with someone who had more experience and hired someone who doesn't have any work experience according to the information provided.
