Today, after spending 8 months and $11,000 on school, I was denied a job in my chosen career field. They told me they decided to go with someone with more experience. So who got the job? One of my classmates. This is her first job. EVER. FML

Today, I received a call telling me I had not gotten a job I would have been a perfect fit for. The hiring manager told me they "went in the opposite direction" and chose to hire someone with less experience, so they didn't have to pay them as much. She made sure to tell me I was still the better candidate though. FML

Today, I got notice that I didn't get the new position I applied for at work. After two interviews, pay negotiation and paperwork, as well as years of giving this place all my time, I found out my boss gave it to his friend's daughter, who has no experience or credentials needed for the position. FML

Today, after graduating from the same program, I was offered several jobs, while my boyfriend wasn’t. He couldn’t be happy for me, saying, "She got in with the right people, and they just keep handing her jobs," and dismissing my work ethic. FML

Today, my sister started a full-time job with a good pay despite having no prior work experience and being a college freshman. Meanwhile, I've graduated with two degrees, have been working two jobs for the last five years, and still can't get a full-time position anywhere. FML

Today, I eagerly applied for a high-salary, fully supportive graduate program that I qualified for. There were 5 steps in the application process. I was turned down after the first one. FML

maybe she had better marks then you and had a better interview and them saying that was a nice way of rejecting you so just an idea but work on your interview skills

You only spent 8 months and $11k and you're complaining about not finding a job? Most of us have spent many times that and several years in school to pursue jobs in our chosen careers, and are having about as much luck as you are. Seriously, you're better off than most people, having only this much student loan debt and having only spent that much time in school. I won't say losing the job to someone less qualified doesn't suck, but there are other jobs out there.

um 8 months is nothing. just finished up my sophomore year at [Penn state and i still have 3 more years to go. where did you even go, itt tech or something like that. get off your ass and at least go for a associates degree or something of the sort, it will get you much farther ahead.

8 months? wow... what is that two or three semesters? try getting a degree first. I've been in school for three years, guess how much I've spent. your classmate probably has spent just as much as you have. suck it up and keep trying.
