Today, after weeks of therapy for severe depression, my therapist thought it would be helpful to confess my deepest problems to my friends, to prove that it was alright to trust people. I did. They laughed. Hard. FML

I think you need some new friends. Depression is a very serious thing.

I think your friends are asshats. Should find new mature friends

don't go to that therapist anymore. therapy is best done in a welcome, safe, and judgment free environment. they were ******** on that.

As a sufferer myself, you need new friends. It's not wrong to trust people. But it is to keep people like that around just to have "friends."

You're all saying his friends are assholes, but maybe they're being honest. We don't know what his "deepest problems" are. It could be "my mom doesn't let me stay up passed midnight" like who the hell knows? Maybe he needs someone to downplay his problems because they really aren't as big a deal as he's making them. The therapist is getting paid to listen. His friends are real.
