Today, as I was driving, a bird swooped down, right in front of my car. I didn't have enough time to react, and so I had to listen to my wife cry the rest of the way home. She kept talking about how it bounced off the windshield and how it probably had a family. FML

I can understand getting upset in a situation like this. However, crying about it for an extended period of time is a bit excessive. It sucks, but things like this happen :/

My dad's girlfriend is like this. Just seeing a dead animal upsets her, even if she didn't see it die. Death is unpleasant, but every living thing on earth is going to die. If someone is going to get that upset over a creature dying they will be spending a lot of their life being upset. The bird likely felt no pain because it happened so fast.

I just lost a dear cat of mine to the highway. Maybe she lost a favorite pet as a child and is remembering it? try and be considerate to her.

That happened to some friends and I while driving home last night. We just heard a thud and saw it bounce of the windshield. Next thing I know, my friend yells "20 points!"

Never swerve to avoid a bird or any animal that won't crush your car. you'll end up rolling your car to not hit a bird or a rabbit. A moose or an elk is a different story of course.

I had this happen two days ago actually. It hit my windshield and as I looked back I saw it hit the windshield of the girl behind me. When we got to school she was having a panic attack.
