Today, as I was driving, a bird swooped down, right in front of my car. I didn't have enough time to react, and so I had to listen to my wife cry the rest of the way home. She kept talking about how it bounced off the windshield and how it probably had a family. FML

I can understand getting upset in a situation like this. However, crying about it for an extended period of time is a bit excessive. It sucks, but things like this happen :/

This happened to me when once when I was younger. I was with my grandparents they were driving on the highway and I think it was a pigeon or a dove it hit the windshield died on impact. I was upset but I knew it was an accident.

I pulled a dead bird outta my grille once. It failed to clear my truck with the rest of its flock that were flying on the freeway. It rode there for a few hundred miles before I stopped for fuel.

Birds sometimes fly low over roads since the wing flap forces air to the road and it bounces back, providing lift and an energy saving to the bird. Read the other FMLs here. You do not want to swerve to save the bird, you will cause an accident. A deer or bigger animal, glancing blow to the side and preferably to the rear end. FHL, but move on. Roadkill happens. =(

I cant stand people that overreact like that. I almost think they do it more for the attention.

TIL: basic human empathy for animals with thoughts and emotions is overreacting for attention.

I swear birds do this all the time. It's like bird --- chicken game. There must be a reason why

Happened to me 2 times with my boyfriend driving, 1ste it was a pigeon and the 2nd time a dear jumped in front of our car, he's still going on about after months.

This same thing happened to my husband and I! We were driving to drop him off for some military training out in the butt **** nowhere. A black bird picked a fight with my jeep and lost. But we laughed and three years later are still laughing about it

I thumped a couple of pigeons with my bus one time. I still laugh at their dumbasses for flying straight, instead of sideways away from me.
