Today, as I was driving home, I saw a woman get hit by a car. I immediately parked on the side of the road to assist her. I called an ambulance and stayed with her until they came to get her, comforting her all the while. When I returned to my car, I found a parking ticket in my windshield. FML

Today, at a red light, an old lady crossing the street fell right in front of my car. I got out of my car to help her. The light turned green and I was still helping the woman to her feet. An officer came by and ticketed me for "impeding the flow of traffic." FML

Today, I was hit by a car speeding through an intersection after the light had already turned red. Still partly blacked out, I crawled onto the sidewalk and I sat down. The woman rolled down her car window and yelled, "Watch where you're going!" as she drove by. FML

Today, on my way to work, I noticed a woman on the side of the road waving for help, her car appearing to be broken down. I pulled over, stepped out of my car, went over to her car, lifted the hood, and checked it. When I looked up to tell her what was wrong, she and my car were gone. FML

Today, a couple of friends and I were driving around town and saw a lady who had accidentally backed her car up onto a concrete wall. Laughing, we all turned to look as we passed and I drove straight into a parked police car that had stopped to help her. FML

Today, I saw a bad car wreck. I pulled over and ran to the car to find an unconscious man behind the wheel. Another car pulled up, and a guy got out. I was relieved to have help, until, to my horror, he started trying to hit on me. I was stuck with him until the ambulance arrived. FML

Today, I was in a car accident. After screaming at the woman for running into me, I got in my car and drove off. As I was driving away, I was staring her down when I ended up rear-ending the person in front of me. FML

Today, I was walking on the sidewalk near my house when a car pulled out of a parking spot in front of a speeding ambulance. The ambulance swerved up onto the grass. Yes, I broke my arm after being hit by an ambulance. FML

Today, I hit a car while trying to park. Assuming that no one saw, I moved my car and parked somewhere else. Hours later I get a call from the university police. While backing up to go to the police station I hit another car. FML

There is usually a process by which you can contest the ticket. You MIGHT be able to get out of it since it was an emergency.

bullshit... the officer wouldve come and assist you instead of giving a ticket unless you parked like 4 blocks away...

as heroic, selfless and noble your act was, you still parking abruptly on the side of the road isn't okay and could have caused more accidents for all you know, but you did the right thing so good guys like you hopefully will catch a break and I'm sure it was in the police report just appeal it. you'll prob be stuck with a filing fee still but that's our crooked system

To the OP: You did a very good thing which most people don't do. Good for you, seriously. Now with the stupid unnecessary parking ticket from the ignorant scound cop, you should be able to take that one to court and win without a hitch, addition of witnesses that saw you perform the good deed. and for those inconsiderate degenerate waste of life people who clicked on YDI: go get hit by a car and get ticketed for laying flat on the ground while in pain. especially you 24. You people are the reason why society fails miserably to this day.
