Today, at a bus stop my friend told me that he loved me. I, reacting on impulse, told him how long I've wanted to hear him say that, and kissed him. Then I realised the look on his face. Turns out he'd said 'I need new shoes' not 'I love you.' FML

Buy him new shoes, then he'll love you too?

That's when you laugh and say "just kidding silly! Haha gotcha." and then pretend it never happened...

How in hell can you possibly mix that up?!?!? They sound nothing alike

It's understandable! When someone really wants to hear something.. Their head will look for ANYTHING being said and twist it

if you don't actually say it out loud, like if you mouth it, they look the same. Try it. It works the same with "elephant shoes" and then try "vacuum" on others and see how they react.

One syllable too many. Although vacuum works.

Elephant shoes actually looks best. You cant see the other syllable when you mouth it. Vacuum doesn't look like "I love you" try again. lol.

You are right men dont say "its a girl..." They say, "hey shes cute...Id like to **** her" not "I wonder what her point of view is on fabrics on dinner dresses?". Unless they are gay, and that clearly is understandable.

You seem pretty clueless, too... I have many guy friends, and while two have them have let on that they might like me (not in the "Oh I want to **** her" way), the most of them are just friends. My best friend and neighbour is a guy, and we have no interest in each other past friendship.

Well if they did say that would you sleep with them... No! So they are trying to be a sly like. lol

want to know how you can mix up "I love you" and "I need new shoes"? look in a mirrior and say both. the lip movements are close though not identical. ages ago when I was in high school some of the girls would whisper either "I need new shoes" or "alligator shoes" to boys as a way of screwing with them. a friend actually fell for the "alligator shoes" one and made an ass out of himself.
