Today, at my retail job, a woman came to my till with her purchases. After I scanned all her items, she handed me two small bags. One was filled with nickels and dimes. The other was filled with cents. Her total was $28.53. The coins amounted to $22.30. FML

Those types of people are a dime a dozen. Why wouldn't she bring enough money to a store? That doesn't make much cents.

Wow. Every retail job I've ever had had a policy stating if someone were to pay with only coins, they had to be rolled. It gave people the opportunity to short the store a few pennies, but that was on the management.

I feel for u I work for cvs & I usually get a moron who does that to and a line forms with angry customers because of it -___-

you technically don't have to accept it if its not rolled.

I'd point her to the nearest CoinStar.

Those things you call cents are called pennies. LOL

I worked in a gas station all through HS and the only people that paid in coins were either broke or had some sort of mental challenge. FYL OP because it sucks to count change that's been god only knows where, but FHL more because who wants to draw attention to yourself that a) you paid in coins and b) you're too broke to buy $28.53 in stuff and have to put something back. Makes me feel sad for the customer.

I feel you OP. I'm a cashier myself, then they get mad at you because they don't have enough and they act like its our fault.

I bet she made you count them again. FYL

Happens to me all the time. They look at me like they expect me to pay the rest of their bill. I just let them know that its against store policy to pay for customers' bills. We have a pair of sisters that stands outside and beg for money. Its illegal, but since they don't cause anyone any harm, the store owner doesn't see the need to have them arrested.
