My school had 3 floors but it was a old building, so there was no elevator, but for them who had like a broken leg or a heart condition or what ever, it was hard to use stairs all the time. So there is a reason schools have elevators.

What schools do you guys attend? With my school, you aren't allowed to use them, but if a teacher permits it you can. Punishment for being caught with one depends on the teacher whose class you're in.

Wow, that's really harsh. At both my high school and senior school you can use phones as long as it's not during a lesson, or in most cases, just when the teacher is speaking...

I don't get why most schools in America ban cell phones. I'm from Croatia and we can have our phones but not use them during class. I think that's a really dumb rule because u might not be going home after school but u still can't have ur phone o.O On the other hand, in my school I would have gotten in trouble for using the elevator as I'm not disabled :P

Isn't there a call button in elevators?

How is that even allowed? You were technically in an emergency situation. Sure, you could have used the elevator call button, but still.
