Today, at school, I have to do a 45 minute presentation with a girl who has panic attacks so bad that she cries, runs out of the room, and sometimes passes out. This presentation terrifies her and it's a major part of my final grade. FML

I know FYL because its important, but I have something to say. Take it easy on her. I get panic attacks too. A lot. Sometimes because of stressful situations like those, sometimes because something feels wrong in my body, sometimes for no reason in hte middle of the night. It feels like you are going to die when it gets bad, that it won't stop til you're heart explodes, or you want to faint. Your body feels numb all over, you think you'll collapse. You just feel so anxious you want to get out of wherever you are- I have to walk of metros or out of classrooms. It's hell. Try to be there for her, to understand, maybe she'll be better. Please try to calm her.

Don't think you'll get bad marks from your partners mental breakdown...

Tell her to get Xanax and deal with it. I have overcome it, she can, too! And yes, it will affect your grade!

It's like saying "get over cancer".

No, dumbass, it isn't. I had agoraphobia at one point, my social anxiety escalated so badly. I couldn't even check the mail which was 9 feet from my old apartment door without Xanax. Now, after some hard work, & therapy, I'm off the meds, in grad school, & doing lots of solo presentations. So, asshat, don't ever again compare cancer to anxiety!

I think more like F her life. It does kinda suck, but you may just have to pick up the slack. Try to encourage her and give her a smaller part in the presentation. Do what you can to help her though it, its her grade too. And I really don't think the teacher will dock you marks for this. Try to be supportive and do your best. Remember, its not her fault so don't blame her.

I'd say that your partner has it worse than you... Try and help her through it, you might make a good friend that way.

Speaking as someone who gets panic attacks frequently, I feel just as bad for OP's partner as I do for OP. Make her go get some Xanax!

I know the feeling. Last year I got assigned to a Chinese girl who hardly spoke any English. I ended up doing the entire project by myself. I assigned her a few insignificant tasks during the presentation so it wouldn't look like I did everything. It ended up just fine - we got an A.

I had to do a presentation with a guy who had a noticeable boner the whole time.. Feel for ya(:

Tell your teacher to find u a new partner. If your teacher doesn't care, this is your turn to pull the short stick and get ufcked for no fault of your own. It's a good lesson to learn while you're in school with no real repercussions. I graduated and am now working in the real world where a bad speech can cost a contract not a letter grade.
