Today, at work, I served a customer who looked so much like my grandma that I thought it actually was her. Then I remembered she died 6 months ago. I had to serve customers with a smile on my face while choking back tears for the rest of the day. FML

I'm extremely sorry for your loss. If anything similar happens again try to see if your boss will let you go home?

Hang in there OP. I know how hard it is I have lost all 4 of my grandparents and although you will always miss your grandmother I guarantee it will get better with time

Ask if you can establish some sort of trade with a coworker so that, if she comes in again you can serve one of their customers and they serve her. It sounds like the two of you loved each other a lot, which is double edged in this situation. Better that she loved you and is gone, than for her to be alive (and sane) but hate you.

Ooh I moderated this one. Sorry for your loss, OP. I lost both of my grandfathers this year, one in March and one in August. I know how you feel.

Live a rich life that'll make grandma proud! No regrets!

Sorry for your lose op. Stay strong!

Sorry for your loss. You were very fond of your grandma. May she RIP

You had to "remember" that your grandmother died? Hopefully this is just worded awkwardly and you aren't a simpleton.

You are not alone op. My grandmother has been gone for nearly ten years and I still cry like it was yesterday. You're going to go through a lot of emotional roller coasters for a while, surround yourself with loved ones and ride it together. My prayers go out to you tonight

I know exactly how that feels. I see my dead best friend almost everyday at work. I almost quit my job. It's so eerie.

Good grief...hang in there OP...take it one day at a time
