Today, at work, I was forced to nod and smile as a pregnant, fifteen-year-old, brain-dead Jersey Shore wannabe cussed me out for being rude by using words from a "foreign language" during our conversation. I used the word "pretentious." FML

Today, I assisted a customer at work. She was asking me all sorts of stupid questions and acting like an entitled, spoiled brat. When she left, since I had a mask on, I meant to mouth, "Stupid bitch" but I blurted it out loud. Everyone heard. I was fired. FML

Today, while at work, a customer refused to speak louder, despite me asking her to do it several times. As a result, I took her order incorrectly. The customer then finally decided to raise her voice, but only to yell at me about my poor listening skills. FML

She cussed op out, and he just nodded and smiled while dealing with this moron. Op never called her a name... Pretentious is not a bad word to describe a customer and op just thought this way about her and tried to be nice to her... Re-read the FML for the love of god... All he did was say a big word that the stupid girl took as offensive because op was trying to be as polite as possible and she didn't understand the meaning of the word pretentious... Get it now? Google pretentious if you don't get it now... Seriously. He did the best he could holding back his real thoughts about her.

How often do you use the word pretentious? It doesn't sound like op had the type of relationship with this customer where they'd be gossiping about someone else. Either way, referring to anyone as pretentious in front of a customer is unprofessional and rude. Pretentious is not a nice word to describe someone last I checked.
