I'm guessing he didn't have a ring. And he didn't do it in a romantic way, or she would not have been able to "pretend" she didn't hear.
OP'S GF: 'why are you kneeling? whats that ring? what are you talking about? will I CARRY you? you are acting rather strange darling.'
I'm thinking maybe she pretended not to hear because OP might have done it in a very unromantic way, and she was disappointed. She probably wants a more memorable proposal.
Try renting a tuba and blowing into it very loudly to get her attention, or maybe she'll have a real reason to be deaf.
I'd dump that bitch
Maybe she didn't hear you because it's really windy today.
How could anyone vote for YDI on this!? OP, you dodged a bullet there. If she's ignoring you now, just imagine how it would be if you were married to her.
I always vote YDI on these because it seems like the asker is constantly dropping a bombshell on the askee. Proposals should be like cross-examining witnesses questions in court--don't ask questions you don't already know the answers to!
Get rid of her
You should be 100% sure before you ask.
You don't say?

Might I suggest you propose louder? :P
Maybe instead of a ring, a hearing aid.
