Today, I bleached my upper lip hair so it wouldn't be visible anymore. At school, for the first time, the guy I like came over to talk to me after class. Just as I thought he was about to ask me out, he told me how weird my "gold moustache" looks. FML

Except for a few sagacious and understanding people here, I'm surprised to see how benighted some folks are. Saying "I'm gonna assume you're dark because you're Indian" is like saying "I'm gonna assume you're fat because you're American." No we aren't all dark, some of us have extremely light skin tone and brown hair. Secondly, some of the airheads here can't seem to accept the fact that all women have body hair and a peach fuzz above your lips isn't a big deal. How would you have felt if we shamed you for having a hairy stomach or a hairy back and asked you to wax them regularly? If you can't accept us women as we are, don't expect us to accept you in your natural form as well.

Shave it every day or so, or wax it. You can also try Nair, but then you might end up with irritated looking skin. Laser treatment also works, but can be expensive. Up to you how you want to handle it.

Thread it out ! Or pluck it out from a parlour! Or any other method people suggested, but do not shave it ! Shaving will make the upper lip rough and it won't feel or look nice!

Try waxing it. Although shaving is less painful it is high maintenance - personal experience

What is wrong with you? Why didn't you just have it waxed like a NORMAL person?!

you should either pluck it or wax it. DO NOT SHAVE!

I tried bleaching once, didn't work for me either. Just wax it, it works the best and it's over in seconds. And remember to put some aloe vera on it afterwards to soothe redness and irritation.

Reminded me of Russell Peters "At least women remove unwanted hair now, back in my day they use to just bleach it. I didn't have a problem with the color of your mustache sweetheart, the blonde goatee isn't any sexier."

As if the most important thing for a woman is to be sexy for douches like him or everyone else.

I'm all for being yourself and not doing things to yourself to impress anyone else. But I also don't want to hear any complaining when you're single because a guy doesn't like your stash!! ^^^

Any guys like that isn't worth it. We grow hair, get over it. Wonder how many men would be up for shaving/waxing/ect like it's expected of women.

Because it says you're from India, I'm just going to assume you have a dark skin tone - It usually says on the box of those facial bleaches that darker skinned people shouldn't use it because it'll somewhat bleach the upper layer of your skin. Also, people with dark skin usually have thicker and jet black hair, so to remove the golden colour you'll need to give it another go (do not, in case your upper lip gets more bleached). I was lucky for awhile, because I am as pasty white as they come with medium brown hair (also unlucky because I am so white, the hair was more noticeable on my lip) so the bleach worked well for a few years, until it started getting thicker somehow and casting a shitty looking dark shadow when I wore foundation. Now I wax it off once a month in the beauticians and the hairs there actually seem to be thinning out a bit...

Yup...bleach will give you orangey-yellow hair unfortunately - especially if it's naturally dark.
