noo that's horrible I feel so bad for u dogs are amazing
It sounds like the OP bought the puppy thinking s/he could take it on the family trip and learned otherwise. Furthermore, it is quite arrogant to think that a friend would be willing to watch your pup at the last minute while you are on vacation. A puppy is a lot of work, time and generally, unintentional destruction. Never expect someone to watch your pet for free or without having arranged it very far in advance. I doubt this puppy was originally adopted because shelters and rescues generally require proof from the homeowner/landlord that the potential adopter has permission to own a pet. A pet store or road-side seller is far less likely to care. Additionally, a rescue puppy usually comes with a contractual obligation to return it to the rescue if things don't work out. It could have been shelter-adopted, but again most shelters don't want to see the animals again and so screen applicants carefully. Unfortunately, the only responsible one here was your mother. You did not obtain prior permission from your "landlord", or your mother would have no cause to get rid of the pup. You did not have a boarding plan *in place* for when you brought the pup home and went on vaction. You did not plan for every contingency. I think you are likely a young and faily immature individual and I hope that the probable death of your pup will wake you up to the responsibilities of pet ownership. I know I'm being a bitch about this. I've earned that right after watching too many damn fine animals die because there is no room at the shelter. I've seen 15 yo dogs that people surrender because they are inconvenient. I've seen 8 wk old puppies and kittens that students couldn't sneak past the apartment manager. They all die the same because there isn't enough space and too few adopters. Animals may not be people but we domesticated them and made the rely on us just the same. We are responsible for them and I am tired of seeing the careless way in which their lives are handled.
Ftw you are absolutely correct.
I agree with 93
