So why didn't you just tell your mom you didn't want to go on the trip without the dog and would be staying home instead if the puppy couldn't come. Go get your dog back she had no right to take it to the pound since it is your dog. Then don't go on the trip and don't give your mother access to your puppy.
screw your family, dogs are way more faithful.
I don't understand. "back to the pound"? I thought you bought it. so if you bought it, how is it going "back"?
Shelter animals ain't free, you know.
For revenge, put your bitch of a mother into the meanest, smelliest nursing home you can find. Pounds are basically jail cells for dogs, why don't we put orphaned children in jails?
Ok, saying that orphans should go to jail is low - not all pounds are horrible. I work at my local animal shelter, and it's nothing like a jail cell. And dogs and cats get adopted FAST here. So they're not all bad. I also doubt an orphange is any fun place to be. #51, while it may be true that dogs and children are not the same, if you don't give the same amount of love to each, and treat it the best possible way, then you really shouldn't have one or both of them.
There's a difference between RESPECTING animals and saying their lives are the same as humans. Sorry but if you have to choose between getting medicine for a sick child, and medicine for a sick animal, you should ALWAYS choose the child. Its like when PETA said that chickens killed for meat were the same as Holocaust victims killed by the Nazi's. Um, no they aren't.
I can understand what you're saying from a human's point of view, you know, because humans are at the top of the food chain blah blah blah... but in biology's POV (not the class, asshole) we are all the same. The only thing that makes us stronger is our ability to think, and make tools. Honestly, the tools that keep us on top of the food chain are weapons. Without them, we'd be animal's meals. Think about it. The other only animals capable of building tools like us (gorillas, etc..) are locked in cages.
Nope, I'm with Malinkrot here. Of course you shouldn't buy a pet if you can't afford to look after it, but people's circumstances change. If you had a dog and a child and one of them got drastically sick, so that you couldn't afford the upkeep of the other, which would you give away? The dog, of course. Children are much more important than animals. Yes it might be 'just' our intelligence and ability to make weapons that puts us at the top of the food chain, but who said the food chain is the most important gauge in the world? Anybody who compares an animal to another human, child or not, needs their head read. This doesn't mean it's ok to treat animals badly. It just means that when something's gotta give, it should be the animal.
To you people are much more important than animals but to me, you've made a commitment and you find a way to make it work. If you aren't prepared to do that, than you should never have adopted the dog or had the kid. I volunteer in rescue and have heard every disgusting excuse on the books for people getting rid of their companion animals. Above and beyond that, who are you to judge how I spend my money?
...okay then, why are children more important than animals?
If we think about it, people can have different beliefs, can't we? I grew up to see all creatures God's creations, humans and dogs alike. You may support human dominancy. I have no problem accepting your beliefs. Why can't you all accept mine? But when this crazy woman decides to take an animal back to a pound, many of which are horrible places, that angers me. I just hope for the dog's sake it's in a good place.
You guys ever think that maybe OP DID have permissions to get a puppy? They probably bought food, toys, etc. etc. beforehand and got the puppy at long last. It could be that OPs mother is dumb as hell and thought the pound can be used as a doggy day-care.
You took the words out of my fingers.
OP, NO!!! YOU DUMBASS!! You ruined the only chance to slowly drive up to a kid and say "hey kid, you want a puppy?" I guess you gotta sell your van now..
was the puppy from the shelter in the first place? I sure hope so! if not, atleast it will be fixed before it goes to another home
Who's to say that the puppy is not already fixed?
I'm going to hope you adopted her from the pound. Your mom is pretty mean, though, not going to lie.

Go get your dog back and bring your mom to the pound.
That's cruel to the puppy.
