Today, I bought an expensive video game and decided to show it off and post a photo of it on Instagram. When I got home to play it, it rejected my activation key. I then realised it was showing in the Instagram post. FML

You should post a picture of your credit card, I bet you'll have better results.

No other words for it really, You totally Deserve It. Tell you what though i'll buy another copy for you, just need your full name and credit-card number to verify it's really you.

Damn OP. I hope everyone learns from this. But really thats gotta suck so bad

you deserve it for not paying attention

Any FML with the words "decided to show it off" is an automatic YDI 99% of the time. This is one of those times.

Surely the person who used your code has the disc for the game so therefore has their own code? I don't know, maybe I'm too behind the times. Maybe there is no disc.

If there's an activation code, chances are that it's for PC. Almost all PC games have an option to digitally download the game. download the game, use the stolen code, free game.

Why the down votes?!? Did you guys miss the ".. too behind the times. Maybe there is no disc."?!? Hate it when the curious get scorched here.. And ^ is the answer to your question. All you need now a days is a digital copy and an instagram post like the OP's. :D

Definitely YDI.. Why would you not check the picture before you upload it?

Post the picture AFTER you put in the code moron

Maybe you can go back to the store you bought the game and say the key doesn't work? It's not the truth, but at least you can play the game :)

If that worked, then anyone could buy two games at the price of 1: you buy the game, let a friend use the code, then you go back to the store, say the code didn't work and get a new one. If the employees were not careful, maybe you could even rinse and repeat and get the game for free for all your friends.

Often stores will allow the return in order to keep customers happy and therefore returning, and record personal information in order to watch for a pattern of that kind of thing.

Aww man, I feel so bad for you! I've done that before with my concert ticket, but luckily I deleted it before anyone saw.

That was frickin stupid. Hopefully you kept the receipt. Just take the game back to the store, tell them the code doesn't work, and exchange it for another one. Don't show it off this time.

YDI for being an attention *****. Did you buy the game to boast around or to play it?
