By thank u usa - 13/12/2013 22:20 - Germany

Today, I came across a tourist in the street asking people for directions, but nobody understood him. I speak English, so I went to help the gentleman out. He said "Knock it off with the cheesy accent, pal" and informed me that my country is a shithole. FML

On behalf of the USA, I apologize. Not all of us are impolite morons.

It doesn't say hes American. USA isn't the only country that speaks English. On behalf of all Americans id like to apologize for YOUR assumptions due to your lack of reading skills.

The rudeness and saying 'pal' make it obvious he was American. Plus the OPs name... Prove me wrong

Well 'pal' is also used in England, and Scotland, and Ireland, and probably other English speaking countries too.

I'm also pretty sure all those English speaking countries have accents that we don't.

Sorry #93. A typo caused my post to relocate here instead of my intended recipient.

happy to see that, on the Internet you couldnt tell

Just start going off on him in German.

I would pay to see that: "German citizen verbally abuses ignorant visiting American"

Thank people like him the next time you go on vacation overseas and the locals ignore you.

What an ignorant twat waffle. Should've given him wrong directions for him acting like an asshole.

As an American, I would like to apologize for him. I promise we aren't all this way

I swear we are not all like that! I was raised with manners here in the US but unfortunately there are a lot of rude people here as well. Sorry you came across such an awful person.

Entschuldigung fur die idioten. Did I get that right? I'm barely beginning to learn. Assholes are everywhere and refuse to stay home so the rest of us can live in peace. Don't let that ruin your opinion of all of us, OP.

Almost correct. It's spelled: Entschuldigung für den Idioten. But for someone just starting to learn the language, that was amazing. Keep going!

Thanks. I'll admit I asked my friend the word for "idiot". That's not exactly in the lessons on conversational German.

"Arschgeige" is always a welcome term if you need some variety from "Idiot"

Only overly generalizing people hate Americans based on stereotypes.

No, we all hate the USA. Your foreign policy and spying efforts have not helped.

I've worked with americans for 4 years and none of them were like that. They are usually great people.

83, I'm not sure about spying on other countries but they tap our phone lines and spy on us too. Not all of us mind everyone else's business or are rude but some of the American's have nothing better to do.

I've been to both countries multiple times, and I have to say that Germany is a lot nicer than the U.S.A.
