Today, I came back to my appartment to find that I couldn't watch certain channels on my tv. When I called the tv company I found out my parents had put a 'parental block' on all my favorite channels. Im 22 and rent an appartment with my friends. FML

I don't see how your parents could do this, unless they own the cable account and pay your bill (at age 22)... so you deserve this.

Can't you just tell the company to remove the block? If you can't because your parents are paying the bill, then I suggest that you and your roommates start drumming up a little extra cash to pay for your own.

Echoing everyone else, how do your parents have access to your cable account?? If they're paying your bills and you're 22, you should be ashamed of yourself. If you're a student and can't afford cable, then you should either a) get a job or a loan, or b) not have cable. Welcome to student life, dear. I'm older than you and had to choose between having any channels on my tv at all, or having internet. Therefore my tv exists for watching DVDs. One day, I'll have a proper job and then I'll be able to enjoy the same perks of life that my parents do. Meanwhile, discover the joys of being independent! Until then, you don't get to complain if your parents jerk you around by the chain you've attached yourself to them with!

If you're 22 and your parents still pay your cable bills, you have more important things to be worrying about than which channels you can and cannot watch.

would the cable provider be Comcast ? cause that's a violation of policy cause if you pay the bill and have no other person that's authorized. then someone really should be fired, If you don't pay it and your parents have the access then will your fault
