Put it a plastic garbage bag. Add bleach before sealing it tight. Leave outside.
Most garbage companies will do an additional pick up if you call them, it usually just costs a bit extra.
Most cities have a place you can drop off trash, sometimes they do charge you for the privilege to bring your trash... However you should check if your city has anything like this...
Usually, if it's something that can become a biohazard- like rotted meat- the garbage company will send out an extra pick up. Some companies charge for it, others don't. It depends on what sort of contract they have with the local government.
It doesn't say where you live, but where I am in Florida we have local Solid Waste Disposal Center. All residents can use for free, it just requires a trip up there. Maybe google your town and see if anything is in your area.
